The Albanian Cinema Project began as an initiative to bring much needed awareness, attention, and assistance to the plight of the Albanian National Film Archive. With the support of the Albanian Ministry of Culture, the US Embassy in Tirana, the Association of Moving Image Archivists and concerned members of the international film and archives communities, the Albanian Cinema Project was dedicated to preserving, restoring, and promoting film heritage. We forged alliances with media archives throughout the Western Balkans to build regional partnerships to promote long-term preservation of the region's audiovisual heritage, and ongoing education for archives professionals. |

FIVE FILMS IN FIVE YEARS We did it!!! In 2012, ACP set out to preserve 5 films in 5 years in order to bring attention to the plight of the Albanian National Film Archives. In fact, we preserved 5 films in just 4 years. We couldn't have achieved this goal without our dedicated board of advisors and all of our individual supporters around the world who want to see more and know more about Albanian archival cinema. As ACP expands to help archives at risk across the Western Balkans by sharing our successful capacity building model with them, we also remain committed to helping preserve, restore, and project Albanian cinema globally. The best is yet to come. Join us! |
